A brief History About the Company


Our journey began in 1981 by establishing a company that provides high quality solutions for dentists and dental institutions, in times when the dental business was not given the proper care.

That was enriched by our diversification into the pharmaceutical and cosmetics field, providing our customers natural-based solutions.

We were able after that to merge these 2 visions into one company: Medical and Pharmaceutical services (MPS) as a distribution and marketing company that has a vision to provides solutions for a healthy lifestyle to our societies in the Gulf region.

Since the company’s establishment day, our work philosophy are based on honesty and the “There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm” Islamic principle, with all parties we work with:

History and Milestones


1981

Birth of DEO

Dental Equipment Office (DEO) was established as an agent with the aim to provide a full solution to private dental clinics in Saudi Arabia, offering everything from equipment to instruments and after-sales services. The journey began with five strong partnerships: Belmont, Bego, Aesculap, Detax, and Vita.

1983

Establishment of MPS.

Medical and Pharmaceutical Services Company (MPS) began operating as an agent for medical and pharmaceutical products. Its goal was to become a leader in the OTC market.

1985

DEO’s Work with Government Institutions

Initially, DEO abstained from entering the public sector due to barriers and strong competition. However, with its growing success, DEO decided it was time to venture into this market.

1991

Full Saudi coverage reached

Both DEO and MPS expanded their presence in Saudi Arabia, covering the entire country, including 26 main localities. Operations were managed through four main branches: Jeddah, Riyadh, Khobar, and Abha.

1993

First Training Course in Dental Implants

DEO offered the first dental implant training course in Jeddah’s King Fahd Hospital, lasting 14 days with 20 dentists attending.

1995

Product Management Model Adaptation

Inspired by the pharmaceutical industry, DEO introduced the product management model to the dental sector, becoming the first dental company worldwide to do so. This success led many international and local partners to adopt the model.

1999

Market share accomplishment and the aim into new horizons

By this year, DEO had installed over 1,000 dental clinics, imported goods from 80 companies, and became an agent for 19 companies, securing a 40% share of the Saudi private market.

MPS reached 5,000 pharmacies and shifted its vision towards natural health products, leading to partnerships in well-being and cosmetics, including Arkopharma and Beesline.

2000

The merge of DEO and MPS and diversifying into manufacturing

DEO merged with MPS, unifying their structure into central units.

MPS Dental saw an opportunity and acquired VITANE, a French-based dental implant manufacturer.

2003

German Dental Export Share Accomplishment

MPS partnerships with German companies resulted in the company achieving a 2% share of global dental exports from Germany.

2009

Became the leading supplier for MOH

MPS Dental installed 300 clinics in Ministry of Health facilities and became the primary supplier for dental clinics.

2011

GCC Coverage reached

For several years, MPS has been looking for expanding into the international market.

By this year, MPS covered all the GCC area by having offices Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and UAE in addition to Vitane office in France in addition to the established offices in Saudi Arabia.

2012

Expansion into the Modern Trade

MPS Pharma expanded into the modern trade sector, partnering with hypermarkets and supermarkets to strengthen its presence in personal care and well-being markets.

2014

Diversification into personal care manufacturing

MPS Pharma began planning personal care product manufacturing in Saudi Arabia, acquiring 40,000 m² of land in Rabigh Industrial City.

2015

Entering the medical prescription industry.

MPS diversified into the medical prescription industry by partnering with TQ Pharma, a leading Jordanian therapeutic drug manufacturer.

2018

Setting the strategy for modernization

MPS focused on modernizing its IT infrastructure, automating processes, centralizing warehousing, and expanding into digital marketing by building our e-commerce platform.
